Are You a First Time Homebuyer?
To qualify for the instant first time homebuyer rebates for the Ontario/Toronto Land Transfer Tax the following must apply:
- The purchaser must be at least 18 years of age.
- Application for the refund must be made within 18 months after the date of the conveyance or disposition. Real Estate Lawyers.ca LLP gets their qualifying clients the instant rebate.
- The purchaser must occupy the home as his or her principal residence within 9 months of the date of closing.
- The purchaser cannot have owned a home or had any ownership interest in a home, anywhere in the world.
- A spouse of the purchaser cannot have owned a home or had any ownership interest in a home, anywhere in the world while he or she was the purchaser’s spouse.

How Much Rebate Do First Time Homebuyers Qualify For?
Property Located in ONTARIO:
If you are purchasing a property in Ontario and satisfy the above criteria you will receive up to $2,000.00 off your Ontario Land Transfer Tax.
Property Located in TORONTO:
If you are purchasing a property in Ontario and within the City limits of Toronto and satisfy the above criteria you will receive up to $3,725.00 off your Toronto Land Transfer Tax and up to $2,000.00 off your Ontario Land Transfer Tax.
